Product description
WhistlePig rye whiskey debuted in 2010 and caused a minor earthquake in the world of whiskey connoisseurs.
WhistlePig was created by investment banker Raja Bhakta and former Maker's Mark master distiller Dave Pickerell, and the 100% rye whiskey came from Alberta Distillery in Canada (Dave Pickerell died in 2018 at the age of 62). WhistlePig Estate Oak 15 Years Old debuted in 2016; the whiskey came from Alberta Distillery, aged in bourbon barrels, and finished in charred barrels made from Vermont oaks on the WhistlePig farm. Due to the harsh winters, Vermont oaks are harder, which slows the penetration of the wood and is reflected in the drink's palette. In 2020, France's Moët Hennessy acquired a minority stake in the distillery.
