Product description
Bickens London Dry Gin, debuted in 2012. The brand belongs to Gruppo Campari and is produced in Birmingham, at the Langley Distillery, one of the oldest family distilleries in the country (operating since 1805), equipped with both modern and slightly antique stills.
We do not know the full list of botanicals, but we do know that they include juniper berries imported from Italy and the Balkans, nutmeg from India and the Balkans, coriander from the Balkans, cinnamon from the Pacific Islands, sweet orange peel from Spain, licorice root from Europe, cassia bark from Asia and lemon peel from Europe. This gin is a unique blend of two distillates from two different stills, over a hundred year old Angela (a distillate with intense aromas of nutmeg, cinnamon and sweet oranges) and 18 year old Jenny (a distillate with a citrus and spicy profile). They are blended and then diluted to 40% abv and bottled.
Bickens is a very expressive gin, in which notes of juniper, pine needles and citrus are perfectly balanced by cinnamon and nutmeg. The producer recommends serving it in Negroni, Tom Collins and Dry Martini cocktails, we in turn with Fentimans Connoisseur tonic with the addition of a piece of lemon.
