The Clan Denny series debuted at the beginning of the new century and initially consisted of old single grain whiskies.
Distribution was handled by Hunter Hamilton & Co., a subsidiary of Douglas Laing & Co., owned by brothers Stewart and Fred Laing. In 2013, the brothers split up and divided the company's assets. The latest Clan Denny releases include single grain whiskies, single malts and blended malts, distributed by Douglas McGibbon & Co., another subsidiary of Douglas Laing & Co., now owned exclusively by Fred. Tormore, presented here, was distilled in August 2010 and aged in a refill bourbon cask, DMG 15314, for over 10 years. Bottled in July 2021 at 48% abv and without chill filtration, in an edition of 321 bottles.
Nose : quite spicy, ginger, white pepper, lemon zest, breakfast cereals, green apples, vanilla, croutons, notes of hay and oak shavings.
Palate : lemon sorbet, vanilla, white pepper, cinnamon, fennel, roasted peanuts, breakfast cereal, lemongrass and oak.
Finish : medium long, with notes of allspice, white pepper, ginger, lemon peel, a touch of vanilla and oak.
