Product description
The debut and immediate success of Taiwan's Kavalan single malt in 2008 solidly shook the whisky world.
The Omar presented here also comes from Taiwan, specifically from the Nantou Distillery owned by the Taiwan Tobacco and Liquor Corporation (TTL), a major producer of cigarettes and alcoholic beverages. Nantou began work in 1978, but took up whisky production even 30 years later. The malt is imported from Scotland, and due to the hot and humid climate, distillation takes place from October to April, which translates into approx. 500 thousand. liters of alcohol per year. Omar Single Malt Sherry Type, aged exclusively in sherry barrels, debuted in 2015, and a year later won a silver medal at the International Wine & Spirits Competition.
