Product description
In spring 2019, Chivas Brothers (a subsidiary of Pernod Ricard) launched The Secret Speyside Collection, its largest single malt whisky range to date.
It consists of fifteen whiskies from four distilleries aged for 18 to 30 years. Interestingly, the whiskies from these distilleries are not in the orbit of the marketing department, but they are extremely highly rated by blenders and private whisky publishers. The selected distilleries are: "Caperdonich, which has been closed since 2002, the pioneering Longmorn, the unique Glen Keith and the remote Braes of Glenlivet". The Longmorn 25 years old presented here is a blend of distillates from bourbon casks, sherry casks and hogsheads. The whisky was bottled at cask strength (52.8% abv) without chill filtration.
Aroma: fruity, peaches, plums, oranges, mango, cantaloupe, raisins and sultanas, honeydew honey, toffee, herbal mix, cinnamon, ginger and oak.
Palate: sweet with a delicate spiciness, apricots, peaches, tangerines, buttered toast, honeyed almonds, raisins, toffee, mocha, cinnamon, cloves, ginger and a light bitterness of oak.
Finish : long, with notes of ginger, pepper, cinnamon, vanilla, honey, citrus and oak tannins.
