Product description
Longmorn is often referred to as the ‘hidden gem of Speyside’ and is considered by blenders to be among the very best single malts.
The distillery was built in 1894 by John Duff, and is now owned by Chivas Bros, a subsidiary of Pernod Ricard. Longmorn produces around 4.5 million litres of distillate annually, most of which goes into the Chivas Regal 18 years old and Chivas Royal Salute blends. Longmorn’s high ranking probably influenced the decision by the Chivas Bros. board to include it in the prestigious “Secret Speyside” series (three versions were released – 18, 23 and 25 years old). The Longmorn 23 years old Double Cask Matured presented here was aged in American oak and hogshead barrels and bottled at 48% abv, without chill filtration. In 2020, this whisky won a gold medal at the International Spirit Challenge.
