Product description
In spring 2019, Chivas Brothers (a subsidiary of Pernod Ricard) launched The Secret Speyside Collection, its largest single malt whisky release to date.
It consists of fifteen whiskies from four distilleries aged for 18 to 30 years. Interestingly, the whiskies from them are not in the orbit of the marketing department, but they are extremely highly rated by blenders and private whisky publishers. The selected distilleries are: "Caperdonich, which has been inactive since 2002, the pioneering Longmorn, the unique Glen Keith and the remote Braes of Glenlivet" (the latter has been operating as Braeval Distillery since 1994). Caperdonich Peated 21 years old Batch CP/003 was aged exclusively in American oak barrels and bottled at 48% abv in 2021.
Aroma : peat, damp hay and straw, cherries, apricots, orange peel, vanilla, honey, roasted nuts, traces of burnt rubber and a dying campfire.
