Product description
The Fettercairn Distillery was built in 1824 by Sir Alexander Ramsay.
Since 1973, it has been owned by Whyte & Mackay, whose assets were acquired in 2014 by the Filipino brandy producer, Emperador Inc. The plant uses a unique distillation technique - during the collection of the middle fraction, the neck of the still is cooled by water, which increases the contact of the vapours with the copper and, as a result, a more delicate distillate. The whisky presented here, distilled in May 2008, was aged in a refilled hogshead cask no. DL 14164 for 12 years. Bottled in August 2020 at 48.4% abv and without chill filtration by Douglas Laing & Co. in the popular Old Particular series in an edition of 354 bottles.
