Product description
In 2008, Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy sold the Glen Moray Distillery to the French company La Martiniquaise.
The latter is the owner of Label 5, one of the ten most popular Scottish blends, whose key malt is Glen Moray. However, La Martiniquaise quickly recognized the potential of single malt editions and invested heavily in building the offer and promoting the brand. The Elgin Classic series debuted in 2014 and includes young whiskies aged and finished in different types of wood, bottled without an age statement and offered at a competitive price. The Rum Cask Finish presented here joined it in 2019; the whisky spent the last 6 months in casks of Depaz rum from Martinique.
Nose : barley malt, buttered toast, sultanas, orange jam, coconut flakes, licorice, anise, nutmeg and a trace of vanilla.
Taste : caramel, toffee, honey, vanilla cream, golden syrup, white chocolate, sugared nuts, grapes, orange peel and a hint of lemongrass.
Finish : medium long, with notes of vanilla, toffee, fruit candy, a touch of nutmeg and oak.
