Product description
Penderyn single malt debuted on 1 March 2004, the feast day of St. David, the patron saint of the Welsh, and the ceremony was attended by Charles, Prince of Wales.
Over the years, the brand has won many international awards, both for its taste and unique presentation. In 2013-2014, the plant underwent a costly expansion that cost a million pounds and increased its production capacity from 90 to 300 thousand liters of distillate per year, and in 2021, the owners opened a new distillery in Llandudno in North Wales. The whisky presented here, distilled in June 2013, was aged in a Tawny Port cask no. PT266 and bottled at cask strength (60.5% abv) in July 2019. The edition consisted of 724 bottles.
Nose: malty and fruity, grapes, black cherries, plums, red currants, figs, maple syrup, toffee, honey, milk chocolate and a bit of cinnamon.
Palate: strawberries, raspberries, plums, lychee, currants, candied lemon peel, honey, toffee, vanilla, white pepper, cinnamon and oak.
Finish: medium long, with notes of red berries, milk chocolate, toffee, walnuts, pepper and oak.
