“Artist” is a luxury whisky series from the portfolio of Parisian distributor La Maison du Whisky.

It debuted in 2011 and immediately caught the attention of connoisseurs with both its excellent selection and its unusual and thought-provoking presentation – each edition is decorated with a label presenting the work of a contemporary artist. The eleventh series was released in 2021 and, in addition to excellent Scottish single malts, it included whiskies from the Compass Box portfolio. The Clynelish presented here, distilled in 1995, spent 25 years in a sherry cask type butt no. 11235. The whisky was bottled at cask strength (53% abv), and the edition consisted of 618 bottles. The graphic design used the work entitled "Magnetic Fudge" by French painter Catherine Ludeau.

Nose : rich, apricots, blood oranges, mango, cantaloupe, rhubarb pie, milk chocolate, crème brûlée, walnuts, a pinch of pepper and a hint of salty breeze.

Palate: barley malt, red berries, raisins, rosehip jam, honey, salted caramel, dark chocolate, nutmeg, sherry and oak.

Finish : long, with notes of chocolate, toffee, multi-berry jam, coffee, nutmeg, oak and a pinch of sea salt.
