Product description
Tomintoul is a medium-sized distillery, equipped with two pairs of stills, producing 3.3 million liters of alcohol per year. Since 2000, it has been owned by Angus Dundee Distillers, whose main source of income is the production of blended whisky.
Tomintoul is a licensed kosher whisky producer and uses almost exclusively bourbon barrels for maturation. A small number of sherry and port barrels are used for finishes. Tomintoul 21 years old debuted in 2011, filling the gap between the 33- and 16-year-old versions. The whisky was matured mainly in bourbon barrels with a small addition of distillates from multi-fill barrels (so-called plain wood). In 2020, this whisky won a silver medal in the "World Whisky Awards".
