CEO is a proposition from Frank-Lin Distillers, based in Fairfield, California. The company has been in business since 1966, although its roots date back to the 1930s.
Owned by the Maestri family, it produces around 15 million cases of spirits a year, and also distributes whiskey, rum, gin, tequila and brandy. The company's portfolio includes six Canadian whiskeys, including the CEO Private Reserve presented here. Frank-Lin Distillers does not disclose which Canadian distillery the whiskey comes from, but claims to have had a hand in developing its formula, although it does not provide a percentage of grain. The whiskey is shipped by tanker to California and bottled there.
Nose: sweet cereals, vanilla, caramel, maple syrup, raisins, milk chocolate, a touch of pepper and cinnamon, oak and a trace of sherry.
Palate : mild, vanilla, brown sugar, buttered toast, raisins, cappuccino, cinnamon, cloves, a pinch of ginger and a light hint of oak.
Finish : medium long, with notes of vanilla, milk fudge, honey, cinnamon, raisins, a touch of sherry and oak.
