Product description
While Dufftown is often referred to as the “capital of Scotch whisky”, Perth undoubtedly deserves its title of “cradle of blending” – it is where global blends such as Dewar’s, Bell’s and Famous Grouse were born.
Old Perth, a creation of the Thompson family at the beginning of the last century, had the makings of a global success (one of the key ingredients in the formula was Macallan), but disappeared from the market in the 1960s, and although the brand changed hands several times, it failed to gain wider popularity. The current Old Perth represents the blended malt segment and is available in two casings – Original and Cask Strength. The latter is made from single malts from the Speyside region and aged exclusively in sherry casks.
