The history of the brand began in 1850, when two brothers from Silesia - Auguste-Christophe and Gustav Meukow - were sent to the city of Cognac in search of valuable eaux-de-vie. After several such trips and a successful search, they decided to set up their office in the city to efficiently trade in cognac. The company grew dynamically from the very beginning, changing shareholders, until 1914, when the French state took ownership away from Gustav Klaebisch because of his German origin.
During World War I, the company survived thanks to its manager, Harold Butler, who became co-owner of the company and managed it for 50 years, sharing profits with Andre Villesuzanne, who inherited the shares by marrying the granddaughter of the previous owner. Eventually Andre became the sole owner, selling the company to the Compagnie de Guyenne group.

We start our journey with VS Cognac - full of notes of fruit, candied orange and licorice with almond accents. Then moving on to the more elegant VSOP, which, in addition to fruity notes, is full of rose flower aromas and flavors of licorice and vanilla. Ending with a delectable XO, which develops intense and robust, yet harmonious notes of dried plums, chocolate and nuts.
