Product description
In summer 2021, Tomatin Distillery announced the “French Collection” series, consisting of four whiskies finished in barrels from France: Monbazillac, Sauternes, Rivesaltes and Cognac.
The whisky presented here was distilled on 25 April 2008 and aged in refill casks before being placed in Monbazillac casks on 10 July 2017. Monbazillac is a sweet wine produced in the Bergerac region in southeastern France from noble rot (botrytis cinerea)-affected Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle grapes. Once Scotland’s largest malt distillery, Tomatin now has a capacity of 5 million litres of spirit per year. In 2020, the brand sold more than 750,000 bottles.
