Product description
The Single Cask Ltd. was founded in 2010 by Ben Curtis (initially operating as Malt Vault Company).
It has offices in London and Singapore, and in addition to bottling, it has a bar and a retail store. The company offers only single cask whiskies, bottled at natural colour, at cask strength and without chill filtration. The Dufftown presented here, distilled on 6 March 2008, finished in a refilled quarter cask of Oloroso sherry (no. 65B), was bottled at 58.3% abv on 16 August 2021 in an edition of 134 bottles. Dufftown Distillery is owned by Diageo and has three pairs of stills and can produce 6 million litres of distillate per year.
Aroma: barley malt, brown sugar, toffee, raisins, black cherries, blackberries, allspice, white pepper, notes of hay and oak.
Palate: sweet breakfast cereals, multi-berry jam, raisins, sugared nuts, milk chocolate, caramel, nutmeg, pepper and delicate grassy notes.
Finish: medium long, with notes of roasted grains, sweet dried fruit, caramel, pepper, allspice and oak.
