The Single Cask Ltd. was founded in 2010 by Ben Curtis (initially operating as Malt Vault Company).
With offices in London and Singapore, the company also has a bar and retail store. The company only offers single cask whiskies, bottled at natural colour, cask strength and unchill-filtered. The Blair Athol featured here was distilled on 27 September 2013, finished in an Oloroso octave sherry cask (no. 311432A), and bottled on 18 February 2021 in an edition of 77 bottles. Based in the southern Highlands, the Blair Athol Distillery has two pairs of stills and can produce 2.8 million litres of spirit per year. The single malt is at the heart of Bell's blends.
Aroma : barley malt, vanilla, lemon peel, white pepper, ginger, a mixture of fresh herbs and a hint of mezcal.
Palate: breakfast cereals, green tea, green apples, lemon peel, white pepper, notes of cinnamon and oak.
Finish: medium long, with notes of cereal, apples, mixed herbs, pepper, ginger, a touch of vanilla and oak.
