Element's of Islay Peat (Pure Islay) / 45% / 4.5l

The Elements of Islay is a series of single malt and blended malt whiskies (launched in 2008) from the Specialty Drinks Ltd portfolio dedicated to the legendary island of Islay.

The vast majority of editions are single malts, and only in 2015 did they join the blended malt Peat, made from distilleries on the north and south coasts of the island. Peat Pure Islay is a "tamed" version of Peat Full Proof, differing in alcohol content, in the case of the one presented here it is 45%. Each batch is blended from no more than 60 barrels. Peat is the most characteristic element of single malts from the Island of Islay, and the whisky presented here contains a large dose of it.

Aroma: fresh, lots of peat smoke, sandy beach washed by sea waves, smoked bacon, lemon and orange peel, vanilla and a trace of oak.

Palate: smoky and malty, vanilla, salted caramel, lapsang souchong tea, candied citrus peel, white pepper and milk chocolate.

Finish: medium long, smoky and salty, with notes of vanilla, pepper, lemons, apples and a pinch of sweet spices.
