Product description
Isle of Raasay Distillery was established in 2017.
It is based on the tiny island of Raasay (population 161 souls) to the east of Skye. The facility is equipped with a single pair of stills and produces 200,000 litres of distillate per year, dividing production equally between "peated" (distilled from malt with a phenol concentration of 50ppm) and "unpeated". Maturation takes place on the island. Raasay single malt debuted as a limited edition in November 2020, with the core range available from June 2021. The Batch # R-02 presented here is a blend of "peated" and "unpeated" whiskies aged separately in three types of first-fill casks: rye whiskey, red Bordeaux and Chinkapin oak casks. The whisky was bottled at 46.4% abv and without chill filtration.
