Product description
Connoisseurs Choice is one of the oldest whisky series in the Gordon & MacPhail portfolio.
It made its debut in the mid-1960s by George Urquhart, a second-generation member of the Gordon & MacPhail family and a great whisky visionary. Today, more than half a century later, Connoisseurs Choice is still a successful competitor in the single malt market and has its devoted fans. The Miltonduff presented here was added to the series on 15 March 2021 as Batch #21/064. Distilled in 1990, the whisky spent over three decades in a refill bourbon cask (batch #23268) and was bottled at cask strength (56.7% abv) and without chill filtration in an edition of 143 bottles. (G&M tasting note.)
Nose: fragrant lemon peel heralds the arrival of pineapple and mango accompanied by vanilla; after a while, honey and rich notes of white chocolate come to the fore.
Taste : intense taste of crystallized violets, paving the way for tropical fruits; these are soon replaced by black pepper, orange sorbet and roasted peanuts.
Finish : medium long, rather spicy, although this is balanced by fruity sweetness and notes of aged oak.
