Knockdhu, the first distillery built by DCL (Distillers Company Limited), commenced operation in 1894.
The plant was closed in 1983 and five years later it became the property of Inver House Distillers, which has been part of the Thai group ThaiBev since 2001. Single malt anCnoc debuted in 1993, and the brand's current sales reach 165,000 bottles per year (2020). Vintage editions have been released since 2004 and are gaining more and more fans. AnCnoc 2009 Vintage hit the market in the summer of 2021 in an edition of 1,320 cases. It is a blend of distillates aged in bourbon and sherry casks. Single malt anCnoc is a key component of the Hankey Bannister blend.
Nose : fruity with a light spiciness, toffee, honey, vanilla, apples, peaches, orange peel, sweet bread, notes of cinnamon and ginger, potpourri and oak.
Palate: vanilla pudding, milk fudge, milk chocolate, honey peanuts, apples, pears, oranges, candied ginger, white pepper and oak.
Finish: medium long, with notes of vanilla, caramel, baked apples, cinnamon, ginger and toasted oak.
