- In the late 2020 Douglas Laing & Co. extended its popular Old Particular range with the Midnight Series. The collection consists of heavily sherried single malts and grains, designed for late contemplative sipping.

In late 2020, Douglas Laing & Co. once again expanded its popular Old Particular series, this time with The Midnight Series.
It consists of whiskies aged in sherry casks and bottled in single cask. The label with a slumbering moon clearly suggests a contemplative evening sipping of these whiskies. The North British presented here, distilled in March 2003, spent 18 years in a refilled sherry butt no. DL 15144, and bottled at 48.4% abv in June 2021 in an edition of 788 bottles. The North British Distillery is owned by Lothian Distillers, a joint venture between Diageo and the Edrington Group (50% each). The plant has a capacity of 70 million litres of spirit per year, and the main mash grain is corn.
Nose : milk chocolate, maple syrup, milk fudge, brown sugar, coconut flakes, raisins, plums, notes of cinnamon, cloves and toasted oak.
Palate: caramel popcorn, milk chocolate, raisins, plums, apple pie sprinkled with cinnamon, cappuccino, a touch of nutmeg and oak.
Finish: quite long, with notes of toffee, caramel, raisins, prunes, allspice, cinnamon and oak.
