Product description
The launch of Opihr Oriental Spice gin in October 2013 brought huge success to Quintessential Brands; the brand currently ranks seventh in the list of most popular premium gins.
The name of the gin evokes the legendary land that flourished during the reign of King Solomon. It was there that cargoes of silver, gold and spices were supposed to have arrived. Its exact location is unknown, it was probably located on the trade route between the East and the West. Opihr Gin is the creation of Joanne Moore, master distiller of C&J Distillery, who was also entrusted with distillation by Quintessential Brands. The botanicals come from countries located on ancient trade routes: cubeb pepper from Malaysia, black pepper, ginger and cardamom from India, cumin from Turkey, coriander seeds from Morocco, bitter oranges from Spain, juniper berries from Italy, angelica root from Germany, the only unknown place of origin of the lemon and grapefruit peel. We add a glass to the bottle.
Opihr Oriental Spice Gin is a “spicy bomb”, a review of our spice cabinets – pepper, ginger, cardamom, coriander, grapefruit and orange zest and a bit of juniper in the background. Its spiciness can be too intense in a cocktail, so we encourage tasting it neat or with ice.
