Product description
Metropolitan, a London Dry gin, is a product of Aceo Ltd, a company founded in 1999 by Edward Odim, a whisky broker.
It is currently a significant player in the alcoholic beverages market, especially Scotch whisky. In 2013, Aceo Ltd acquired Murray McDavid, and a year later moved its operations from Gloucestershire to the Coleburn Distillery, which closed in 1985. The company also owns Parkmore Distillery Company and the Parkmore brand (Parkmore distillery operated in Dufftown from 1894 to 1931). Its portfolio also includes Glen Cooper, The Glenlee, Emerald Isle, Smoky Scot and Iguana Rum. We do not know the full formula of Metropolitan gin, we know that it contains classic gin ingredients such as juniper berries, coriander seeds, angelica root, fresh citrus and orris root.
Metropolitan presents a bouquet characteristic of London dry gins – juniper, pine needles, notes of coriander and orange and lemon zesty. The producer recommends serving it with ice, tonic with a quarter of a lime and in a classic Martini.
