Product description
Miltonduff Distillery began (legal) distilling in 1824 as the Milton Distillery.
Its buildings stand on the grounds of Pluscarden Abbey, where a brewery and probably a distillery operated as early as the 13th century. Hiram Walker & Sons purchased the plant in 1936, which is when the relationship with the Ballantine brand began. Today, Miltonduff belongs to Chivas Bros. and, equipped with three pairs of stills, produces 5.8 million liters of distillate per year, almost all of which goes into blends from the Pernod Ricard portfolio. The Miltonduff presented here is a proposal from the Dutch company The Ultimate Whisky Company. The whisky, distilled on June 1, 2011, spent exactly a decade in a refill sherry butt (no. 900341), and was bottled at 46% abv and without chill filtration on June 23, 2021. The edition consisted of 916 bottles.
