The Ultimate Whisky Company is a very active Dutch company based in Amersfoort.

Founded in 1994 by Han and Maurice van Wees, the company initially specialised in miniature editions. The Ultimate whiskies are bottled without chill filtration, either at cask strength or at 46% ABV. The Ultimate Whisky Company can now boast over 1,000 editions. The Edradour Ballechin on display here was distilled on 3rd August 2011 and aged in a second-fill sherry butt (no. 272) for over 10 years. Bottled at 46% ABV on 9th August 2021 in an edition of 833 bottles.

Nose: pleasantly smoky, vanilla, milk fudge, milk chocolate, sultanas, figs, orange peel, strawberries, smoked plums, potpourri and oak notes.

Palate: smoky and sweet, honey, toffee, multi-berry jam, licorice, milk chocolate, salted caramel, traces of smoked bacon and oak.

Finish : quite long, with notes of peat smoke, dried plums, raisins, a touch of black pepper, tobacco and oak.
