Product description

Teaninich Distillery is based in Ross-shire in the northern Highlands.

It was built in 1817 by Captain Hugh Munro on his Teaninich Estate. In 1933, the distillery became the property of DCL, and is now owned by Diageo. For years, Teaninich has been featured in the formulas of popular blends, Johnnie Walker, Dimple and VAT 69, and as a single malt it was offered in the Flora & Fauna and Rare Malts series. The Teaninich 13 years old presented here is a proposal of The Single Cask Ltd. from April 2021. Distilled on 25 March 2008, the whisky was aged in a first-fill bourbon cask no. 704328 and bottled at cask strength (53.8% abv) in an edition of 255 bottles.

Aroma : spring meadow, barley malt, green apples and grapes, pears, mirabelle plums, lemon sponge cake, vanilla, candy and a trace of damp hay.

Palate: mild, apples, peaches, lemon and orange peel, vanilla pudding, brown sugar, toffee, fruit jelly, a touch of cinnamon and oak.

Finish : quite long, with notes of barley malt, village orchard fruit, sugared nuts, hay and oak.
