The Single Cask Ltd. was founded in 2010 by Ben Curtis (initially operating as Malt Vault Company).
Its offices are located in London and Singapore, and in addition to its whisky line, it has a bar and a retail store. The company offers whisky exclusively in single cask versions, bottled with a natural color, at cask strength and without chill filtration. The Ardmore presented here, distilled on June 4, 2009, spent exactly 9 years in a bourbon barrel (American oak) no. 1312, and was bottled on June 4, 2018 in an edition of 217 bottles. Ardmore Distillery (founded in 1898) is located in the Highlands and equipped with four pairs of stills can produce 5.5 million liters of distillate per year. In 2019, the brand's sales exceeded 700,000 bottles.
Nose : vanilla, honey, sugar-roasted peanuts, green apples, bananas, cherries, a handful of fresh herbs, licorice and peat smoke in the background.
Palate : barley malt, peat smoke, a little iodine, vanilla, brown sugar, toffee, roasted nuts and almonds, licorice, a little oak and a pinch of salt.
Finish : medium long, with notes of peat smoke, vanilla, toffee, white pepper, ginger, orange peel, a touch of mint and oak.
