The Single Cask Ltd. was founded in 2010 by Ben Curtis (initially operating as Malt Vault Company).
It has offices in London and Singapore, and in addition to bottling, it has a bar and a retail store. The company offers only single cask whiskies, bottled at natural colour, cask strength and unchill-filtered. The Teaninich presented here was distilled on 25th March 2008, finished in a quarter cask ex-Laphroaig (no. 704321), and bottled on 2nd March 2021 in an edition of 103 bottles. The Teaninich Distillery is based in the northern Highlands and, following a recent expansion, produces over 10 million litres of distillate per year. The plant is owned by Diageo and supplies malt whiskies to several global blends, including Johnnie Walker and Haig's.
Aroma : slightly peaty, barley malt, brown sugar, vanilla, apples, pears, lemongrass, white pepper, traces of pine needles and oak.
Palate : honeyed breakfast cereal, vanilla cream, green tea, baked apples, lemon peel, nutmeg and a pinch of ash.
Finish : medium long, with notes of honey, brown sugar, lime jam, white pepper, a touch of peat and oak.
