The Single Cask Ltd. was founded in 2010 by Ben Curtis (initially operating as Malt Vault Company).
With offices in London and Singapore, it also has a bar and retail store. The company only offers single cask whiskies, bottled at natural colour, cask strength and unchill-filtered. The Mannochmore featured here, distilled on 11 February 2009, spent over 10 years in a refilled hogshead cask (American oak) no. 1387, and bottled on 6 August 2019 in an edition of 278 bottles. Mannochmore Distillery (founded in 1971) is based in Speyside and has four pairs of stills that can produce 6 million litres of distillate per year.
Aroma : malty-floral, spring meadow, vanilla, honey, sweet breakfast cereals, cinnamon, coconut flakes, apples, notes of lavender and oak.
Palate: sweet breakfast cereal, vanilla, toffee, banana cake, cinnamon, cloves, white pepper, green tea, notes of lemongrass and toasted oak.
Finish: medium long, with notes of vanilla, milk fudge, lemon pepper, cinnamon, hay and oak.
