Based in Brittany (Glann-ar-Mor means “a place on the seashore” in the local language), Glann ar Mor Distillery was founded in 1999 by Jean Donnay.
The production of whiskey began in 2005 and three years later the Glann ar Mor single malt debuted. The company's offer lists two types of whiskey, in addition to the standard, "unpeated" Glann ar Mor we find in it the Kornog single malt distilled from malt imported from Scotland with a concentration of phenol compounds of 35 ppm. Glann ar Mor is distilled from the ancient barley variety "Maris Otter Barley", aged in bourbon barrels and bottled at 46% abv without added coloring substances and without cold filtration. Since 2020, the distillery has been owned by Maison Villevert.
Aroma: barley malt, wildflower bouquet, vanilla, butter cookies, brown sugar, peaches, notes of iodine and oak chips.
Taste : apples and pears, gooseberries, vanilla, caramel, honey, toffee, a hint of licorice, a pinch of salt and pepper and traces of oak.
Finish: medium long, with notes of vanilla, brown sugar, oak and a hint of summer fruits.
