Product description
Torabhaig, the second distillery on the Isle of Skye alongside Talisker, began producing whisky in early 2017.
The distillery is the project of Sir Iain Noble, who moved to the island in 1972; Noble was also the creator of the Pràban na Linne line of whiskies known as "Gaelic Whiskies". In 2002, he had all the necessary permits, but his death in 2010 prevented him from completing his life project. In 2013, it was taken over by Mossburn Distillers and after another three years of renovation, Torabhaig Distillery began distilling. The plant is equipped with one pair of stills and distills from malt with a phenol concentration of 55-60ppm. Allt Gleann (Gaelic for "Old Gulch") is the second offering of this young distillery. The whisky was aged in first and refill bourbon casks.
