Product description
Larios has been the best-selling gin in its native Spain for years, and global sales of 1.3 million cases (2021) give it sixth place on the global market.
The brand is part of the Beam Suntory portfolio, although its roots date back to 1866. At that time, French winemaker Charles Lamothe and Spaniard Fernando Jimenez founded the Jimenez Lamothe Spirit Company, whose products we would now classify as premium. In 1916, José Aurelio Larios took over the company and “baptized” it with his own name; Larios Gin was registered as a brand in 1932. It is currently produced by the Spanish branch of Beam Suntory Destilerias y Crianza. Larios Provenzal Mediterránea is a herbal-citrus gin intended for exclusive distribution in the Travel Retail network. Its base is corn alcohol and quadruple distilled wild juniper berries. We do not know all the botanical ingredients, although they include coriander, almonds, lemons, bitter oranges and Mediterranean herbs, basil, thyme and rosemary.
Larios Provenzal Mediterránea is a gin with a fresh aromatic and flavor bouquet, in which notes of juniper, rosemary, basil and thyme balance fresh citrus. We recommend serving it with Indian tonic, basil leaf and lemon peel.
