Despite its oriental-sounding name and presentation, Akori gin is produced in Spain, specifically in Catalonia, by Destilerias Campeny SA

Founded in 1970 by Amadeo Campeny, the company is headquartered on the outskirts of Barcelona and remains in the hands of the founding family to this day. Its offer includes over 50 alcoholic beverages, including vodka, rum, tequila, limoncello, gin and whiskey. Akori Gin is undoubtedly inspired by Japan, its base is rice spirit, and in the formula (we do not know all its ingredients) in addition to juniper berries, there are cherry blossoms, bitter oranges, kumquats and kumquat bush leaves, pitaya (dragon fruit) and ginger. The proverbial "cherry on the cake" is the presentation of the drink - an elegant, bluish bottle depicting a volcano and a bamboo shoot. In 2015, this gin won a silver medal at the International Spirits Challenge.

Akori is a gin with an intensely citrusy aroma and flavor palette, in which the sweetness of orange, melon and lychee fruit intertwines with notes of juniper, pine needles and the subtle spiciness of ginger and pepper. We recommend serving it only with an ice cube or with a delicate premium tonic and a slice of orange.
