Product description
Knut Hansen Dry Gin is a premium gin known for its distinctive blend of botanicals including juniper, basil, cucumber and apple. It is distilled in the London Dry style, meaning it is distilled four times and in small batches to ensure a high-quality, artisanal product. The gin is characterised by a fresh and delicately sweet taste with notes of cucumber, herbal mint and orchard fruit. The apples used in the gin come from the "Altes Land" region south of Hamburg, the cucumbers and basil are sourced locally, and the rose petals are grown on the embankment by the Baltic Sea.
The gin is named after Knut Hansen, a sailor known for his refined style and adventurous spirit. The brand reflects the character of its origins, reflecting the authenticity and quality of northern Germany. Knut Hansen Dry Gin quickly became one of the leading gin brands in Europe and won numerous awards for its unique taste and design.
The Hamburg Distilling Company, where Knut Hansen Gin is made, places emphasis on sustainability and regionality. The owners ensure high-quality raw materials, avoiding flavour enhancers, colourings and preservatives. Most of the botanicals come from northern Germany. Green electricity is used in the production process. The corks are made of natural oak from Portugal, and the ceramic bottles are fully recyclable. The gin was launched in 2017 by two friends, Kaspar Kagedorn and Martin Spik.
