Product description
Moon Import was founded in 1980 in Genoa by Pepi Mongiardino and quickly became famous as an importer and distributor of high-quality wines and spirits.
At the urging of the legendary Silvano Samaroli († 2017), Mongiardino avoided the industry giants and focused on bottling single casks of whisky, usually from private owners. In time, he became the official distributor of Bruichladdich, as well as Tamnavulin and Tullibardine. In 1982, Mongiardino offered his first whisky in the debut Half Moon series. In turn, in an interview given in 2015, he complained that obtaining a high-quality barrel of whisky today borders on a miracle and considered closing down the business. The Tamdhu-Glenlivet presented here was aged for almost three decades and bottled in the “Cars” series in an edition of 176 bottles.
