Product description
The Epicurean, from the Lowlands, debuted in 2016 as the fifth instalment in Douglas Laing & Co.’s Remarkable Regional Malts Collection.
The whisky is dedicated to a charismatic gentleman from Glasgow, the life and soul of the 1930s, famous for his dislike of empty glasses and love of fun. The 2019 Côte-Rôtie Cask Finish heralded the expansion of the brand with so-called wood finishes. 2021 brought two finishes in port casks - Ruby Port Cask Finish and Tawny Port Cask Finish. In both cases, after the basic maturation period, the whisky was transferred to port casks for about 12 months and bottled at 48% abv without cold filtration. The Tawny Port Cask Finish presented here consisted of 406 bottles.
