Mars Asagi Madara 8-year-old Blended Japanese Whiskey, 2020 Limited Release / 48%/ 0.7l

In September 2020, Shinsu Mars Distillery completed its renovation and expansion.

To commemorate the occasion, the company released a limited edition blended Asagi Madara whisky. It was made exclusively from Japanese ingredients aged for at least eight years. The blend uses its own malt whisky and grain whisky from an undisclosed Japanese distillery. The label features a work by Japanese painter Tomoko Nakanoma depicting asagimadara butterflies. The species is known for traveling great distances and usually visits the village of Miyada, where the distillery is based, in September.

Aroma: very delicate, spring meadow, honeydew melon, cherries, orange peel, vanilla, caramel, peanut butter, sultanas and a trace of licorice.

Taste : vanilla pudding, caramel, honey, apples, peaches, strawberries, orange jam, a hint of cloves and a delicate hint of smoke far in the background.

Finish : medium long, with notes of vanilla, honey, ripe summer fruits, a touch of licorice, pepper and oak.
