The Single Malts of Scotland, a series of whiskies from the Elixir Distillers portfolio, debuted in 2005.
The company is owned by brothers Sukhinder and Raj Singh, whose online store The Whisky Exchange has been operating since 1999 and now offers over 8,000 spirits. In autumn 2019, The Single Malts of Scotland were expanded to include the Reserve Cask line. The whiskies in it are small batch editions blended from several barrels and bottled at 48% ABV. The barrels are selected by Oliver Chilton. The Teaninich 11 year old presented here, distilled between 2007 and 2009, is a blend of five bourbon barrels released in 2021 as part of the fifth series (Parcel No. 5).
Nose : malty and grassy, freshly mown lawn, vanilla, sugar syrup, lemon peel, green apples, lemongrass and oak chips.
Palate : slightly oily, grass and leaves, brown sugar, sweet breakfast cereals, vanilla, apples, pears, oak and delicate herbal and mineral notes.
Finish: medium long, with notes of country orchard fruit, vanilla, white pepper, hay and oak tannins.
