Batavia Arrack is a spirit produced exclusively on the island of Java in Indonesia, commonly known as "Indonesian rum".
It is made from cane molasses with the addition of local red rice - which distinguishes it from traditional rums. It is distilled in traditional pot stills. The name Batavia Arrack comes from the historical name of the capital of Indonesia, Jakarta (Batavia) and the Arabic word "arrack", meaning distillate. By the Dutch is a brand of distilled spirits associated with areas that were once Dutch colonies, or in other ways historically associated with Dutch merchants.
By the Dutch Batavia Arrack White is a spirit made from molasses and not aged in oak barrels. Bottled in Amsterdam.
Aroma : Sugar cane, esters, tropical fruits, lime, coriander.
Taste : Full, complex, notes of sugar cane, mezcal, iodine, vegetal, coriander.
Finish : Long, vegetal, with fruit and coriander.
