Product description
Springbank began operations in 1828 and was the fourteenth distillery in the Campbeltown region, which was known as the world capital of whisky in the 19th century (at the peak of its popularity, there were 34 distilleries operating there).
Springbank is the only distillery operating since the first half of the 19th century, which remains owned by the founding family to this day and the only one that distills exclusively from barley malted by itself. Since time immemorial, Springbank limited editions have enjoyed huge interest from whisky connoisseurs and collectors, and the one presented here, part of the Private Bottling series, is undoubtedly the pride of any collection. The whisky distilled on 10th January 1969 spent over three decades in cask no. 55 and was bottled at cask strength 47.6% abv in 2003 in an edition of 155 bottles.
