Product description
Moon Import was founded in 1980 in Genoa by Pepi Mongiardino and quickly became famous as an importer and distributor of high-quality wines and spirits.
Following the suggestion of the legendary Silvano Samaroli († 2017), Mongiardino avoided the giants of the industry and focused on bottling single casks of whisky, usually from private owners. In time, he became the official distributor of Bruichladdich, Tamnavulin and Tullibardine. In 1982, Mongiardino offered his first whisky in the debut series Half Moon. In turn, in an interview given in 2015, he complained that obtaining a high-quality barrel of whisky today borders on a miracle and considered closing down the business. The Tobermory presented here is an absolute rarity in our collection. The whisky distilled in 1972 spent 33 years in a No. 9 sherry cask and was bottled at 49% abv in an edition of 960 bottles.
