Tranquebar Christmas Spiced Gin / 48% / 0.7l
Product description
The history of the AH Riise company began in June 1838, when Albert Heinrich Riise became the sole pharmacist on the island of Saint Thomas, and thus obtained a monopoly on the production of alcohol in his pharmacy there. Thanks to colonialism, the company had access to the best exotic goods, which it could later supply to the Old Continent. Thanks to its rums, Riise has made a name for itself around the world, but in addition to its flagship premium products, matured in different ways, the company also produces other, equally interesting alcohols.
The Tranquebar brand is part of the AH Riise portfolio, and its history began in 1620, when a Danish ship accidentally arrived at the Indian port of Tharangambadi. The Danes bought the city for 12 cannons and changed its name to Tranquebar, which comes from their language. The new acquisition was followed by the export of all kinds of goods unavailable in Europe. The city remained under Danish rule until 1845, when it was taken over by the British.
