Product description
Douglas Laing & Co.'s Double Barrel series debuted in 2009. The idea behind the creation was to combine two single malt whisky barrels with opposite profiles, which creates a balance of aromatic and flavor elements.
The first proposal was a marriage of single casks of Laphroaig and Macallan bottled without chill filtration at 46% ABV, very well received by consumers. Recently Douglas Laing & Co. has offered an Orkney & Speyside version, also composed of two casks, this time revealing only the place of origin, not the names of the distilleries from which they come. All Douglas Laing & Co. editions are bottled with natural colour and without chill filtration.
Aroma : fruity with a slight spiciness, lemon and orange peel, apples, vanilla, milk fudge, salt and pepper, roasted nuts and a trace of iodine.
Palate: mild, vanilla, honey, buttered toast, pears, peaches, oranges, white pepper, salted nuts and oak.
Finish: medium long, with notes of vanilla, citrus, roasted nuts, white pepper, a touch of cinnamon and oak.
