Product description
Glenfarclas The Family Casks collection was launched in 2007 and featured whiskies from the finest casks the distillery had in stock, bottled in its natural state.
The collection consisted of 43 bottles, each bottle containing whisky from a different vintage, distilled between 1952 and 1994. The Family Casks was an absolutely unique edition, without any similar ones, offering a cross-section of the distillery's 43 years of activity.
The Glenfarclas 1961 presented here is a continuation of this ambitious project, part of the next stage of The Family Casks collection. The whisky comes from sherry cask no. 3055, which on 9th July 2014 contained just 138 bottles of cask strength whisky (41.7% abv).
Unfortunately, we didn't have a chance to taste this Glenfarclas, but we do know that 1961 was one of the best vintages from this distillery. A year earlier, a second pair of stills was installed there.
