Product description
The Old St. Andrews brand was created in 1970 for the export market. It consisted of whiskies bottled in distinctive golf ball-shaped bottles of several different sizes.
The brand became popular in the 1980s by Denis Thatcher, husband of Margaret Thatcher, who was often photographed with a golf ball miniature bottle in his hand. OSA (Old St. Andrews) Whisky Company is a big promoter of golf-whisky alliance. Here we have a lovely sampler of three Old St. Andrews whiskies presented in golf balls-shaped 50ml bottles:
Clubhouse Blended Scotch Whisky (40% abv) – bottled without age statement and marketed as “the rich and fruity one”;
Twilight 10 years old Blended Malt Scotch Whisky – a marriage of single malt whiskies aged in white American oak barrels for a minimum of 10 years and marketed as “the fresh and delicate one”;
Fireside 12 years old Blended Malt Scotch Whisky – a marriage of single malt whiskies aged for a minimum of 12 years and marketed as “the slightly smoky one”.
