Product description
In spring 2020, Benromach Distillery changed the presentation of its whisky; the new one is completely different from the previous one.
As the distillery says, “the idea for the new presentation is inspired by the sign that used to be on the roof of our peat kiln, the red doors on the distillery buildings and the red brick chimney; the quality and taste of our single malts remain unchanged.” Benromach 21 Year Old debuted in the autumn of that year and is now the oldest version of the whisky in the core range. It is a blend of distillates aged in bourbon and sherry casks, both first fill, bottled at 43% abv.
Nose : rich and elegant, oranges and tangerines, dates, baked apples, honey, nutmeg, cinnamon, milk chocolate, notes of tobacco and leather and a distant trace of smoke.
Palate : rich, vanilla cream, toffee, honeyed almonds, milk chocolate, strawberries, blackberries, orange peel, a touch of cinnamon and pepper and a hint of smoke in the background.
Finish: quite long, with notes of toffee, honey, raisins, orange peel, chocolate, a touch of licorice and leather and a fleeting trace of smoke.
