Product description
A little mysterious whisky brand from The Greign Company, which we couldn’t really find any information about.
On the box however, we can see a name of Stephanie MacLeod, master blender of Bacardi Ltd, the owner of five malt distilleries in Scotland as well as the Dewar’s brand (Bacardi doesn’t own grain distillery). Her name is the only lead to the real producer of Greign single grain whisky. The whisky itself comes from undisclosed distillery and was aged predominantly in white American oak barrels with a little addition of ex-sherry casks for two decades then bottled at 40% abv in 2018. Ms. MacLeod describes her creation as “Exceptionally Smooth & Well Aged”.
Nose: light and smooth, vanilla, bubble gum, caramel, sweet cereals, apples, pears, lemon peel, toasted bread and faint hint of sherry.
Palate: soft, vanilla, brown sugar, hard candy, apples, ripe grapes, banana bread, nutty cereals and toasted oak.
Finish: medium long, sweet and spicy, with notes of cereals, vanilla, brown sugar, hints of white pepper and ginger and oak.
