Shenk’s Homestead Sour Mash Whiskey is a legacy brand produced by the Michter’s Distillery in Louisville, Kentucky, which started distillation in the new facility in August 2015.

The brand honors legacy of two Swiss farmers, John and Michael Shenk, who founded distillery in Schaefferstown, Pennsylvania in 1753 that was to become known as Michter’s in the 20th Century. The whiskey is made in Kentucky according to the traditional sour mash method (a portion of previously distilled whiskey mash is added to the next batch).
